Hero of the Kingdom is a casual adventure game that comes with elements of role-playing and a very interesting storyline.
There’s a plenty of complexity within this game, so boredom should be out of the question. You will have to explore a vast realm, earn gold, master all kinds of skills, meet various characters, collect herbs, hunt and fish, find diverse items, and many more. I really like a lack of linearity of this game: there’s always something amazing to do and something new to discover, and it’s doesn’t feel overwhelming despite its comprehensiveness. On the contrary, it’s one of the most relaxing games I have lately played. It’s not frustrating at all, and though it’s not exactly difficult or challenging, it’s still surprisingly addictive.
The visuals are nice without being sophisticated. Hero of the Kingdom manages to look decent despite the fact that its graphics are quite simplistic. On the other hand, the soundtrack is simply great.
Though Hero of the Kingdom is mostly presented as a quest-driven adventure strategy game, after playing its demo version for a while, I’d say it could be defined better as a resource management point-and-click adventure game. Anyway, regardless of how you call it and how you categorize it, it’s still a pretty cool game, especially for casual players without high demands.
